The onset of harsh winter weather conditions exposes Chicago’s homeless community to tremendous health risks. George Martin, Senior Vice President of Penserra’s Cheevers Division and an active volunteer with The Night Ministry, is all too familiar with the city’s dramatic seasonal changes. In preparation for winter, George donated his time, along with financial resources donated by Penserra, to deliver tents and thermal sets to the city’s homeless. As a member of The Night Ministry’s Street Medicine Team, George and his crew of dedicated volunteers frequently set out with backpacks full of medical and survival supplies to serve and treat individuals who have the most trouble accessing health care in remote areas of the city such as under viaducts and in parks and forest preserves.
