Sustainability
Taking Care of This Planet
Sustainability is most often defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. It has three main pillars: economic, environmental, and social. These three pillars are informally referred to as people, planet, and profits.
Mission Statement
Penserra is dedicated to continuous improvement in the understanding of the relationships between human activities and the environment. We are committed to providing practical solutions in support of a strong economy and industrial progress, based on the principles of sustainable use of Earth’s resources and maintenance of a safe and healthy environment.
The Penserra Foundation established a partnership with One Tree Planted, a nonprofit organization focused on advancing the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through global reforestation initiatives. In recognition of Penserra’s commitment to sustainability, the foundation and One Tree Planted will collaborate on tree planting engagements throughout California and Illinois.
One Tree Planted is focused on the six pillars of global reforestation- air, water, biodiversity, social impact, health, and climate. Planting trees is one of the best ways to combat the damaging effects of climate change. Trees also provide tremendous social impacts by providing jobs to over 1.6 billion people, empowering women in underdeveloped nations, and supporting communities devastated by environmental damage.
This partnership aligns with Penserra’s approach to a sustainable infrastructure. By thinking and acting with a goal of sustainability, Penserra will be positioned for a strong future. Sustainability is a business method that ensures responsibility in a manner that protects our employees, communities, stakeholders, and the environment, now and in the future.
