Penserra Celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

Penserra celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage month, honoring the contributions and influence Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans have made to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States and are instrumental to its future success.

The diverse Asian American and Pacific Islander American population includes members of more than 30 ethnic groups who speak more than 300 languages and dialects.

The theme of this year’s Heritage Month is “Advancing Leaders Through Collaboration.” The 2022 theme is a continuation of the “Unite” series and focuses on leadership and engagement to advance the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. One of the reasons May was chosen for this celebration was to pay tribute to the first Japanese immigrants who came to the United States in May 1843.

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have a rich heritage thousand of years old and have both shaped the history of the United States and had their lives dramatically influenced by moments in its history.
